our mission

The USA Juniors Cup is the only multi-event multi-discipline national Juniors development cycling series in the country that provides Junior cyclists with the most effective structure to enjoy and develop in the sport of cycling. The structure consists of a competitive format, reliable calendar, exceptional support, and meaningful recognition.

improvements for 2027

Additional Events: We are expanding the series adding the Green Mountain Stage Race in Waitsfield, Vt., and bringing the series into the Northeast, and we continue having discussions on how to properly include other wonderful events in the calendar for 2027.

Overall Championship Standings: We will count the TOP 10 results, instead of the TOP 15 results, from a total of 31 results available, towards the overall championship standings. This system provides the best opportunity for riders to remain in contention by increasing the competitive pool and promoting a responsible budget.

national team pathway

USA Cycling and USA Juniors Cup are proud to continue their partnership and announce the 2026 USA Cycling Junior Road National Series, continuing their commitment to competitive events and clear development pathways for junior athletes across the United States.

Building on the success of the 2025 season, the 2026 USA Juniors Cup calendar will expand the series adding the Green Mountain Stage Race in Waitsfield, Vt., and bringing the series into the Northeast.

“The USA Juniors Cup has become a key part of the development pathway for young American cyclists,” said Tanner Putt, Director of Road Cycling at USA Cycling. “This series gives athletes consistent, high level racing opportunities and a clear pathway toward national team selection and international competition.”

The 2026 series will feature nine events, including three USA Cycling National Team Selection Events, where top performers will earn invitations to National Team trips and development camps.

During the 2025 season, the USA Juniors Cup served as a launchpad for rising talents such as Beckham Drake, who won the opening selection event at Valley of the Sun, earned National Team selection, and went on to finish fourth in the Junior Men’s Individual Time Trial at the UCI Road World Championships.

National Team Selection Opportunities

Automatic National Team Nominations: The overall general classification winners of each Selection Event in the Junior Men’s and Women’s 17-18 categories will receive automatic nominations to a 2026 USA Cycling National Team trip funded by USA Cycling.

European Race Camp Invitations: The top placed 15-16 male and female riders at each Selection Event will be invited to attend a USA Cycling European Race Camp.

Talent Identification Camp: In addition to the Selection Events, the top three overall finishers in the USA Juniors Cup standings for the Junior 17-18 Men’s and Women’s categories, as well as the top overall 15-16 male and female riders, will earn invitations to the USA Cycling National Talent Identification Camp, held at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, October 7-11, 2026.

Finalized selection criteria and official documentation will be published in January 2026.
